Construction Voice, co-hosted by Graves Jenkins, held their annual luncheon at the Hotel du Vin today, featuring the new city Chief Executive, Jess Gibbons, as the guest speaker.
Gibbons expressed her strong commitment and enthusiasm for her role, as well as her excitement about working in such a vibrant city.
She noted that the current political stability, both nationally (following the election landslide) and locally (with Labour in majority control for the first time in 20 years), would support her and her colleagues in making essential decisions on the city’s growth and economic potential. This statement coincides with new Chancellor Rachel Reeves' announcement of a major overhaul of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) aimed at "getting Britain building again." Whether these assurances will translate into tangible results remains to be seen.
